Background:
Steven Crowder is a conservative political commentator and Internet personality from America and Canada. At age 12, Crowder worked as a voice actor for the character Alan "The Brain" Powers on the children's television series Arthur. He began performing stand-up comedy at age 17. He then acted in several films, including the role of Doug Moore in the 2009 movie To Save a Life. From 2009 to 2012, Crowder worked for Fox News. He posted videos on conservative media platforms and then began hosting Louder with Crowder, a daily political podcast and YouTube channel with commentary segments featuring a panel of co-hosts and guests. He is known for a recurring segment called "Change My Mind," in which Crowder invites passers-by to converse.
Crowder regularly posted videos on politically conservative media, including PJ Media and Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood. He served as the master of ceremonies at the 2011 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and generated some controversy with a rap video he premiered at CPAC 2012.
Crowder has built a reputation as a provocateur, often pushing the boundaries of political correctness with his bold, controversial political views and irreverent comedy. His YouTube channel has been demonetized multiple times: first in 2019 for alleged racist and homophobic slurs, and again in 2021 for violating YouTube's presidential election integrity policy. He was briefly suspended in 2022 for violating their harassment policy. His channel had over 5.8 million subscribers when he moved his show to Rumble in 2023. In 2025, Crowder cut ties with YouTube altogether.
In 2017, the Louder with Crowder program, featuring mainly comedic content and political commentary, became a daily program featured on CRTV which merged with TheBlaze in 2018, Louder with Crowder was hosted there until 2022, in addition to his YouTube channel.
"Change My Mind" is a regular segment conducted by Crowder in which he sits at a table with a sign including the phrase "Change My Mind" and invites people walking by, often students at a university campus, to change his mind on a controversial subject. A photo of Crowder seated behind a sign in 2018 reading "Male Privilege is a Myth | Change My Mind" outside the Texas Christian University campus became an Internet meme. Variations of the meme often feature humorously controversial statements in place of "Male Privilege is a Myth," such as "Pineapple goes on pizza."
Crowder's show has also seen success on Apple's podcast list. He has a secondary channel on Rumble called CrowderBits, which features an aggregation of video clips of interesting news stories.
The longest section of Crowder’s Wikipedia page is titled “Violations of Online Policies.” It’s typical biased Wikipedia reporting, and it makes for interesting reading. But, we won’t go into that here.
In 2023, Crowder was negotiating with The Daily Wire to host his show. Unfortunately, he made information about the negotiations public, leading to a public squabble with Daily Wire, which ended when Crowder set up on the Rumble platform where he remains today.
Most Crowder’s material streams live and on-demand for free on Rumble and on his website, louderwithcrowder.com. He also has a premium subscription option called Mug Club, which offers additional programming and other benefits to subscribers.
